A visit to the shop...

18-04-2026

I finally got the time off to go and visit the workshop in Portugal..

The  workshop are 40 minutes away north of Porto and with an Uber it was easy to get there.

Mr. Dulonge met me and my friend that I had invited with me and there I had a very good meeting where we discussed different smaller issues that needed attentention and expectations, so there are allmost no more to discus unless something unexpected shows up.

At the shop the bodyworker was about to finish the last dents and gaps on the rear bonnet and first when he is saticefied it will be handed over to the paintshop.

There has been put a lot of work and effort into it and I´m very confident that it all will turn out really good.

Mr. Dulonge expected the car to be ready for preperation and paint within a week or two...

The paintjob will take one month to finish, and the re reassembly can begin.

A lot of parts and pieces are ready and just laying on shelfs waiting to be put back on.

From what I saw and this meeting in person with Mr. Dulogne I have a more confident feeling that they do know what they are doing.

We discussed the expectations of the chrome and trim, and I told him that I needed him to reuse the original trim for the doorsills, just polish it up, that goes for the front grill and windowtrim, you cannot duplicate the same surface, and I like the feeling of the original part with those small imperfections time has givin it.

The frontbumper was a good example, where dents where straightend out and the stainles steel had been polished so it looked like new, the same will happens to the rear bumper, only thing that needs to be replaced are the bumper horns, and those where allready made.

Mr. Dulonges expectations where the car will be ready are around July/August, that would mean the car could have a run or two this year!

I don´t like to get my hopes up to high, due to my two latest experinces with workshops and the hustlers who owns them, but some say that third times are allways the best..?

From what I saw I have a pretty good feeling and I expect to see a more frequent progress the next 12 weeks to come..
