Back to square one...

I received the car from the workshop who I had it delivered to back in January.

The transport had arrived 5 minutes before i did, and it was an relief to see it back in one piece.

One of my major concerns was the missing cranckshaft damper on the engine and the overflow pipes connected to the manifold.

Luckly they where in the boot of the car, one can´t resist to wonder why the hell, those parts where placed there including some bolts for the oil pan, when the engine was supossed to be restored here in Denmark and the rest of the car around 1000 km away in Poland?

Another thing that puzzles me, was the fact that the damper was taken appart? But why? to much time on their hands and just another labour hour or two to put on the invoice?

But it explains me better that it took the workshop around 5 whole days to take the engine out of the car, including the radio and soaking the engine in dieseloil, trying to loosen things up?

I will proberly never know?

Now, back to what really matters, the Lancia Flaminia GTL 2.8 3C Superleggera by Carozzeri Touring!

Same day the car arrived, I had i meeting with a workshop who are known for doing metalwork and more important seems to know how to work with aluminum.

I wanted to know their approach on the job they are supposed to do and the best way of doing that is to invite them to see the car as it sits right now.

They where not scared, first they would go all in, but I made them perfectly clear, that this car was NOT a body off restoration and I wanted to keep as much as possible of the original bodywork intact, that goes for the chassis as well.

I will have them as a serious contender, but I have yet another workshop to speak to, before I decide.

The car are more than 60 years old, and has survived so far, I´m pretty confident, that the car will still excist another +60 years and that is only because of the pressent condition of the car.

Next task will be a meeting with the interiore trimmer so we can the the leather ordered.
