Ice on the cake...

2025-05-19

When I bought the car, the very very first impression was to leave it as it stood, just do alle the mechanics, maybe the seats, but leave everything else like the car was found...

30 seconds later, I was all in for a more or less complete restoration..

That said I want to leave something as it was, I therefor decided to leave the enginebay as intact and original as possible, but I need to give at a very good clean.

I tried out with a steam-cleaner and some engine-soap, it took some of the +40 years of dirt and grime, but not nearly enough, I need some heavier tool to do the job, but at the same time keep the surface more of less intact.

Dry-Ice-Blasting, is the key word! I have been looking at them for quite some time now but they are very expensive, if you want a good one!

I am happy with a second hand one, and I found one on a German site I want to buy, it´s around €3200 so that is also a kind of money, but I´m pretty confident that it will do a great job and at the same time save me a lot of work..

Even better, I can use it on my other cars to clean out engines etc with.
