Let´s begin!

2024-12-01

By the end of November, the car was picked up by that workshop who will attend the restoration of my car.

Spending time and discussing the upcoming work and trying to leveling our expectations to each other.

We have made a kind of story-board where we can share ideas, thoughts and things that need to be taken care off. That way we can all ways look back and see what we agreed up on.

The fact taht the car is so untouched and original in every piece, I have made it perfectly clear, that no one takes any dessicions without asking me first.

One example, many bolts are copper-plated from factory, I want them to be copper plated again or just cleaned up as they where!

Other bolts are nikkel-zink plated, the same proceedure goes for them as well.

Some parts, like the wrinkle painted valvecovers, I just want to be left as they are, because the look like new, no need to paint them.

And so on...

The fact that the car will change color on the outside and the carpets (The GTL came with carpets from the factory) will also change color, everything else will be kept as original or close to.

I knew from the begining, that the car came with a seized up engine, and it has to be taken appart to trace down why it´s stucked! I hope it´s because of over 40 years of stand still, and things simply just grow together in lack of running, there are no traces or signs of the engine has run warm or missing oil, so far..

The engine has been put in a bath and soaking in diesel oil, we hope that it will penetrate those bolts, pistons and everything else that are a bitunwilling to co work..?
