Once again...
I finally found a transport company who are up for the task bringing the car to Portugal.
Herritage 57 who will restore the car has their workshop in the small city Guimaräes just a hours drive from Porto so it´s a bit of a journey to bring the car all the way from Denmark to Portugal.
But the Dutch transport company Neelevat and Rick van Dael will see to that the car will arrive safely.
If everything goes as planned, the car will be picked up in week 30 and will arrive at the workshop by the end of week 31
So once again, this little car will be transported, it has covered more km back on a truck the last 2 years than those 45 years it has sat in a garage...
Now, the fun part are how we load the car, as it only rolls and the truck are a "normal" side curtain truck with a loading ramp in the back?
Lucky enough, on the other side of the street from where my garage, there are a big transport company who has a large loading dock with a wide ramp, so my plan is to tow the Lancia cross the street, up the ramp and then we can push the car onboard the truck... Easy Picy...
So, now I´m a bit in a hurry to load all the bits and pieces into the car, making it ready, there however be some parts that I need to send to Herritage 57, because I´m not finish restoring them due to a delayed shipment of spareparts from VintageLancia... Remind me not to order any parts from that company again!
The summer hollidays has kicked in, so my best guess are they start working on the car by the end of August?
Meanwhile in Giaveno IT where the engine are being rebuild, the latest update was that the liners where ok and will be reused, again this car maybe looks a bit shappy on the outside, but it´s in pretty good nick.
