Planing ahaed...
I receieved the engine, radiator, brake-calipers etc. from the workshop yesterday, it was picked up and transported to me.
I was pleased to see that it appears to that they have remembered everything, except for the exhausts, but they where long overdue anyway, so nothings lost there.
I also recieved a sample of the Connolly Vaumol leather in black, from Hides.uk, that is exactly was I was hoping for.
I´ve also ordered a sample of the Wilton Wool Cinnamon, so I can see it in real flesh.
I´m still a bit lala on the color or more precise the shade of green, I´m very fond of the Ferrari color Verde Tevere Metalizato, but there are also a Aston Martin Green, that puzzles me?
I´ve decided to ship the engine to Casa Lancia in Holland (I do need a quote) I find them highly capable to do the job, their master engine builder Maurizio was working on those Flaminia engines at Lancia back in the 60´ies, so I will put my faith in their hands.
The interiore will be done here in Denmark, I have spoked to Morten Nordskov who has his carsaddle shop in Holbeak a 50 minut drive from Copenhagen.
Morten had allready heard about the car from others, and he was on from the very first moment, I have seen some of his work in another old car, and it was really well done.
Morten will join me, as soon the car hits my garage, then we can make a plan from there..
About the bodywork and paint, I´m still scouting for the workshop who can manage both, and I have a couple in sight, and I´m going to have a meeting with them, when I have my car in the garage.
Most of the other tasks I will personal get done.
The radiator and oilcooler are almost ready to go to the workshop who restore such, and the high pressure oil hoses are also ready to be duplicated.
I think I´ve said it before, but I´m still impressed how easy the nuts and bolts comes of, and further more how little work the parts aquire to have them back like new.
For instanse, the coolant bleed-valve, that is a pretty complex little thing, it just got some cleaning, 15 minuttes in the Aqua-Knife and it is looking and working like new.
I´m looking forward to dismantle the brake-calipers and have them restored, the calipers will be upgraded with those aftermarket in stainless steel, I find it better to brake than originality.
I´m starting to look forward to this project, that for many reassons will be my last, any other car from there will be bought in good and driveable conditions.
