Repair and rust...

Only a few days ago I received photos of the doors with signs of rust and pitting, mainly in the lower part of the steel construction, a quite common place where water gets trapped, combined with no or poor rustprotection it will slowly but surely starts to rot away.

The workshop has now repaired and replaced some of the constuction, not more than where nescecary and now both doors are easily ready for another 50 or some years I think.

The diagonal wire that are a part of the strengthning of the entire construction will be replaced as well of corse.

I´m also told that I soon will receive some paint samples sprayed on some metal sheets, just to give me an idea of the final color that I have chosed for the car, I´m quite exited.

There a very seldom a sunny sky without a cloud, and in theese matters the fuel tank must be replaced.

I have the whole time insisted on buying a new fuel tank, but the workshop had the hope that the original could be saved, but as it turned out it could not..

There are no chance in hell that all the surface rust and other debries will be 100% cleaned out, and the last thing I will need are those debries going in to the fuel system and blocking it all up.

It´s around €1600 for a new fuel tank, I think it´s well spend considering...
